This Center serves the families of University of Washington staff, faculty, and students

The University of Washington Children's Center at Radford Court was rebuilt and expanded in 2001. The program now includes two beautiful buildings and a newly constructed playground. The upper building is designed specifically for Infants and Toddlers while the lower building hosts two Preschool classrooms and a second Toddler room.

Radford Court is a Montessori based early childhood program and is licensed for 79 children. The on-site Program Director is Lisa Lukas.

We care for children from 3 months - 5 years of age.
Radford Court is a part of the UW Childcare system, which gives priority to those families affiliated with the University.  Further information about the priority system is below.

The UW Children's Center at Radford Court is located in the University of Washington Radford Court family housing complex, adjacent to the south end of Magnuson Park.  The Center's location affords children an expansive outdoor environment and easy access to the park, nature walks, and wildlife.  For more information, contact the Center Director, Lisa Lukas at (206) 543-3737.

Our Preschool and Toddler programs are based on the Montessori Method, with credentialed Montessori Lead Teachers in each classroom.  Our Infant program is based on the the RIE philosophy.  We strive to maintain a 3:1 staff to child ratio with Infants, 5:1 with Toddlers, and 10:1 with Preschoolers. The Center is open Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 6:00pm.

UW Childcare Priority System
Radford Court is a part of the Haggard Childcare Resources (HCR) University of Washington Childcare System, which enrolls families affiliated with the UW. Enrollment in Radford Court is determined according to the following priorities:

  1. University of Washington students living in family housing

  2. University of Washington full-time students

  3. University of Washington faculty and staff

*Siblings of enrolled students have enrollment priority

Annual Calendar
A year-round program with the exception of legal holidays, three in-service days and two one-week closures at the end of August and December.  Click here to view the current calendar.

A morning and afternoon snack, as well as a nutritious homemade hot lunch prepared by our onsite Chef are served daily for Preschoolers, Toddlers, and Infants on table food.

Tuition (2019-2020)
Tuition is based on full-time (5-day, all-day) enrollment and tiered by priority level, as outlined above.  Tuition may be paid quarterly or in twelve equal payments due at the beginning of each month. The first month's tuition is due when an enrollment contract is submitted
